Have you ever looked at the bottom of your cookware and noticed a set of numbers? I know I have, but before I started this website I didn’t really think about what they actually meant.
You might see something like 18/10 or 18/8 imprinted on the base or the side of the pot or pan. What you are looking at is an indicator of the mix of metals that have gone into the manufacturer of your cookware.
Stainless steel is not just made up of steel. It is actually an alloy or mix of different metals. Stainless steel gets it’s ‘stainless’ qualities because of the other metals mixed in with it.
