poached-egg-poacherNow I am going to brag a bit here because I am considered to be the best egg poacher in my neck of the woods.  Family and friends all agree that I make the best poached eggs (and scrambled eggs come to that). So I haven’t ever considered changing how I do things.

So when a friend of mine brought me a Demeyere egg poacher I put it in the cupboard for  a while before deciding it was about time to try it out.

Well I have to tell you, this egg poacher is fantastic. The eggs cook just the way we like them with the white set and the yolk just a little runny – not too hard and not too soft. The eggs simply slide out of the metal cup – so I don’t have to chase them around the pan before lifting them out.

I am a convert to this piece of cookware which is made of 18/10 stainless steel with a 1/4 inch pure aluminum core for even heat distribution.

I also love the glass lid which means I can keep an eye on the food as it cooks.

But the big plus with this pan is that it isn’t just restricted to poaching eggs, it can also be used to cook other things like vegetables, grains, or for melting butter and making sauces.

The handle stays cool and the pan can be used on an induction cooktop.

And where can you buy an egg poachers that will make you the perfect egg poacher:
