Some time ago we featured “The Pioneer Woman Cooks” as our Blog of the Week.
We often visit her site to check out what great recipes and stories she has in store. Ree now has a new website called “thepioneerwoman.com” and I have just come from reading about her Tomato-Basil Pizza, Two Ways: An Experiment. Both ways of making this pizza are very easy to make and very tasty to eat.
I really like her new website and I am sure you will as well.
Ree has a great way of writing which is entertaining and amusing. So why not get yourself a coffee and settle down to check out the recipes and all the other interesting stuff on thepioneerwoman.com

Just recently Paula and I were in San Diego, and part of the complimentary breakfast at the Holiday Inn Hotel were waffles and maple syrup.
The waffle mixture was placed on the bench in a large bowl with a jug that held the correct amount of mixture to make one waffle. This was poured onto the heated waffle iron and within moments a fluffy, golden brown waffle was ready. Once the maple syrup was added, the dish was complete and ready to eat.
Up until this point in time I hadn’t really considered the mouth watering temptation of waffles, for breakfast. My only encounter with the humble waffle had been at McDonalds one morning, and the result was less than inspiring.
Now I am a waffle convert. So I had to send off and get a waffle iron so that I could make this delicacy for my family. I live in a rural area so buying online makes my life easy. It’s just a matter of selecting the items that suit my lifestyle and once I have paid through the secure payment system that most online stores have nowadays, I just sit back and wait for the item to arrive. Easy.
After careful consideration of the different types of waffle irons available, I settled on the Professional Rotary Belgian Waffle Maker. simply be
cause of all the great features. It is similar to ones used in restaurants and has a rotary feature that flips the wall without you having to open the lid. The thermostat and browning dial let you control the shade of the waffle to your preference and the timer beeps when the cooking surface has reached the optimal cooking temperature and when the waffle is done.
It cooks waffles that are 1 1/4″ thick and 7″ in diameter and I like the brushed stainles steel exterior.
However, this was just my personal preference and other waffle irons work just as well. There are a number of styles of Waffle Irons available so it is just a matter of selecting one that suits your family’s needs and budget.

We have just added our latest review for the All Clad 9pc Stainless Steel Cookware Set. In my opinion this is one of the best sets available on the market today for all round functionality.
All Clad have an amazing attention to detail with their products and you can’t beat them for quality and good looks.
I like the fact that although it is a stainless steel set they have also thrown in a non-stick skillet. Personally I can’t survive without non-stick for frying but I like the rest to be stainless steel so this is a perfect set in my opinion.
