So we decided to separate our reviews into the best nonstick and the best stainless steel Calphalon saucepans.

Our first review is for the best nonstick saucepan and we’ll post the review for the stainless steel saucepan in the next couple of days. So let’s get to the review.

If you’re like most people you probably have at least one piece of cookware in your kitchen that you use over and over again and it just becomes your favorite piece. Well the Calphalon Everyday Nonstick 4-1/2-Quart Covered Sauce is one such piece of cookware.

We were hard pressed to find a negative review for this saucepan. With this in mind we set out to find just what makes this saucepan so special.

Firstly, the pan is made from heavy gauge aluminum which means that it heats quickly and foods are cooked evenly. This is important. The one tip that we give people when buying cookware is to look for cookware that has a layer of either aluminum or copper (or both) in the base and preferably also up the sides as this makes a huge difference in how well foods cook.

This saucepan has silicon handles which have a soft feel and ensure that the handles stay cool. This is a common feature on Rachel Ray cookware and one which we like.

The glass lid is handy in that it allows you to view foods without removing the lid.

This Calphalon saucepan is also oven safe to 450F. I love this feature in cookware. I want something that can go from stovetop to oven without having to transfer the contents into another piece of cookware.

This saucepan is not dishwasher safe which may disappoint some but with the nonstick surface clean up is quick and easy. We have always found Calphalon nonstick cookware to be a joy to clean if you can call hand washing a joy.

The lifetime warranty is a bonus with this cookware. You don’t often get this with nonstick cookware so you know that this must be a good solid piece of cookware for Calphalon to back it up with a lifetime warranty.
