All Clad Griddle Review: All Clad LTD NonStick Grande Double Burner Griddle

The All-Clad LTD Nonstick Double Burner Griddle is receiving rave reviews on the internet. After checking out over 100 different consumer reviews for this product we were hard pressed to find a negative comment amongst them.

The griddle is made up of four layers of materials - a hard anodized outer layer, a stainless steel inner layer and a core of pure aluminum. On top of the stainless steel is a bonded nonstick layer. These layers are what sets this griddle apart from the cheaper brands and because of this you will certainly notice the difference in your cooking results.

To give you an idea of the size, the griddle is large enough to fit four sandwiches. So you won’t have the problem of people waiting around for their serve of pancakes or eggs with this griddle. The All Clad griddle is large enough to rest over two burners. At this point you may be thinking that because it fits over two heat sources that foods sitting over hotplates will cook faster than those that aren’t. But here is where the beauty of all those layers of metal in this griddle come in. The aluminum core distributes the heat evenly over the griddle so foods are cooked evenly without hotspots, another reason why this  griddle is a cut above  the cheaper versions. There is no doubt that you will really notice the difference in how well foods cook on this griddle.

The griddle contains a channel around the edge which gathers any fat or juices making this a healthy way to cook. And according to All Clad you don’t need to use oil (or at least not a lot of it) with this griddle as the nonstick surface ensures foods don’t stick.

As we said previously, we really found it difficult to find someone with anything bad to say about the All Clad griddle. I don’t think I have ever seen such a consistent amount of praise for a piece of cookware. Here were the main comments:

Most commented on how the griddle heated quickly and cooked the food evenly even though it sat across two burners - even in cases where one burner was smaller than the other.

A good majority loved how so much food could be cooked at the one time. There were no queues waiting for pancakes to cook as they could all be cooked in one batch.

Someone said it was the best cookware item they had ever owned and a couple of others had either bought one for a family member or friend or were buying a second one for themselves.

One owner of this griddle is a professional chef who really puts this griddle through heavy duty work in their restaurant and said that despite ‘heavy use and abuse’ it has performed flawlessly. He even put it in his dishwasher…but don’t do that at home, you’ll void your warranty.

Although this griddle is not dishwasher safe most were astounded at how easy it was to clean. Someone mentioned that just a simple wipe with a soft damp cloth is all that is required.
