kitchenaid-ice-cream-maker-attachmentFirst of all, to use the Kitchenaid Ice Cream Maker Attachment you need to have a Kitchenaid stand mixer as this attachment is designed to only fit into one of these types of mixers. It is standard however so it will convert any of the Kitchenaid stand mixers into an ice cream maker.

To use this ice cream maker you need to first place the bowl in the freezer for at least 18-24 hours prior to use. The bowl has to be completely frozen otherwise it just won’t work. Now I don’t know about you, but when I want ice cream I don’t want to have to wait 24 hours before I can even start making it. Having said that however, you could just store the bowl in the freezer on a permanent basis so it is ready to go at a moments notice.

This ice cream attachment will make ice cream that is at a soft serve consistency so if you prefer your ice cream a little firmer you’ll probably find that you will have to place it in the freezer for an additional hour or two prior to serving.

Recommendation

The Kitchenaid Ice Cream Maker Attachment received mostly postive responses from reviewers on the internet. They loved that it was well constructed and so easy to use. Most importantly they said it made great ice cream. If you can get past the quirks mentioned above then this is a definite must have if you have a Kitchenaid stand mixer.
