Review: Kitchenaid Pouring Shield Attachment Review

The Kitchenaid Pouring Shield attaches to a Kitchenaid stand mixer to help with adding ingredients as well as preventing splashing when mixing.

The Kitchenaid Pouring Shield fits all Kitchenaid 4.5 qt stand mixers and 5qt stand mixers with the exception of the 5qt lift bowl models.

Consumer reviews are mixed for this product with some loving this handy attachment and others finding that it caused more problems than it was worth. The problem seemed to center around the attachment not fitting properly and coming loose.

I think the problem may be related to the fact that consumers have purchased the wrong size pouring shield for their stand mixer. As we have already indicated this does not fit 5qt lift bowl models and unfortunately a number of online cookware merchants do not indicate this in their description.

What We Like

• This attachment is dishwasher safe.
• It makes adding ingredients super easy.
• It prevents foods from splashing around your kitchen.

What We Don’t Like

• The issue with the pouring shield not fitting properly seems to be a widespread problem. Ensure that when purchasing that you check that you are getting the right size pouring shield for your Kitchenaid stand mixer.
