Review: Henckels 2 Piece Mincing Set for Herbs or Nuts
By Paula on Oct 12, 2008 in Kitchen Accessories, Reviews
This is a neat little kitchen accessory for anyone who uses a lot of fresh herbs in their cooking.
The Henckels 2 piece mincing set comes with a heavy board and a curved stainless steel mincing knife which work together to mince both herbs and nuts.
What We Like
- This set comes gift boxed.
- The board itself comes with rubber feet so you won’t have the problem of it moving around on your kitchen bench.
- The middle of the board is curved to keep the herbs or nuts in the centre.
- This set has a lifetime guarantee.
- The blades are sharp and do the job nicely.
- You are not limited to using this just for herbs and nut - some have used it to mince onion, boiled eggs for egg salad and
What We Don’t Like
- The blades on this are very sharp so you need to be careful when hand washing.

It is useful tool. But how to sharpen the edges in case if it is a mandatory requirement. Some more details about the body make material would be informative to know.

Thanks for the comment. I have contacted Henckels regarding sharpening the edges. As soon as I get a response back I will post it here.

I’ve received a response from Henckels who have provided the following information:
“The double blades mincing knife can be sharpened best with a whetstone, if need be it can also be taken apart – carefully with a screwdriver lest to scratch the surface. The blades a sharpened at the outer side only, hence restoring the original sharpness with an approx. angle of 15-20° should not be a problem.”
