I bought some All-Clad Stainless French skillets last month. They look great at first, are fairly well-balanced, and cook evenly. However, they're almost impossible to keep clean, even with Barkeeper's Friend.
My 40-year-old Revere Ware, on the other hand, is much easier to keep clean and, except for the 12-inch chicken fryer, better balanced, if not as attractive.

Frankly, I can live with the stains, but my wife doesn't like them. I think it's time to get some serious, professional cookware (Mauviel? Vollrath?) that may not look as good on the shelf but will be easier to live with.
