rsvp-international-compost-pailThis product intrigued me. My first thought was that I could be composting in my own kitchen…but even as I thought it I knew it probably wasn’t likely. Not sure why you would want to start composting in your kitchen anyway but there you go.

Still this compost pail by RSVP International is a great idea. Basically you collect any kitchen scraps worthy for a compost bin into the pail. Then you just empty it whenever you like into your real compost bin in the garden.

The lid of the compost is filled with holes to provide aeration. It also has a charcoal filter. Both of these combined help to ensure that you don’t get the smell of rotting vegetables in your kitchen.

Some reviewers have commented that they have had the kitchen scraps in the pail for up to two weeks without any smells at all. I would think this would really depend on a few different factors of which the weather might be one. A hot humid climate might see the scraps rot a lot quicker and the smell may be more obvious so emptying the pail on a more regular basis might be recommended.

Overall, this is a great idea and with the mostly positive reviews is one product we recommend.
