Thanksgiving is not too far off so now is the time to start thinking about ordering your turkey for the big day.
Cooking.com actually sells them on their website so ordering online is easy and you get a good quality turkey that is not only free range but also organic.
The Heirloom turkey is raised by the Diestel Family who have been farming turkeys since 1949 on a ranch in the Sierra Foothills in Sonora, California.
Their turkeys are farm fresh, and raised in the old fashioned way. The turkeys are free to roam the ranch within fenced areas of course and are fed a low-fat diet of corn and soybeans which are actually milled on the ranch itself. The turkeys are free of growth hormones and stimulants.
This all results in an exceptional tasting turkey that is both tender and succulent.
When ordering online you need to take note of the delivery dates. These are displayed on the Cooking.com website.
Once your turkey arrives ensure you defrost appropriately. Cooking.com recommend defrosting in your refrigerator at least 5 days prior to using.
