delonghi-ec155-espresso-makerThe DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker would have to be one of the best value for money espresso makers on the market today. With it’s Italian design and engineering this Delonghi coffee maker has the features that make this stand out from its peers.

One of the best features of this machine is the ability to take both ground coffee and pod coffee. For convenience sake, the pods are a quick and easy way to make coffee but the beauty of this machine is that you can also use your own ground coffee. You have the choice of convenience or complete control.

The second really cool feature of this espresso machine is that it has a dual-function filter holder. So not only does it filter but it also mixes air into the brew. So what’s so good about that you’re probably asking? Well the air is what creates the smooth frothy topping, or crema as it is called, on the top of your espresso.

What We Like

  • It has a removable water tank which makes it easy to fill.
  • It has a removable drip tray which makes clean up a lot easier.
  • The self priming operation means that you don’t have the problem of start up preparation.
  • You can use both ground coffee or ESE (Easy Serve Espresso certified) pods in this coffee maker.
  • It comes with a swivel jet frother for making cappuccinos and lattes.
  • The nice compact design means it won’t take up too much space on your counter.

What We Don’t Like

  • The frothing wand is quite low so will require a frothing cup to fit.

Tupperware Mix n Store Plus Pitcher

41gmgktzpdl_sl160_.jpgI am the Tupperware queen. If there is a product I am absolutely besotted with it is Tupperware.

This piece, the Tupperware 2-Quart Mix-N-Stor Plus Pitcher, is one of my favorite pieces and its one I use on a regular basis for whipping up scrambled eggs.

The Tupperware Mix n Store pitcher is great for mixing up pancakes, pikelets, batter, waffles, and I am sure you will find a multitude of uses for this pitcher.

I also find the mix n store is great for when kids are helping me to cook.  They can whip up cream using the hand mixer, and the cream is contained in the jug and you won’t get splatters all over the workbench.

You can mix it up and pop the mixture in the fridge until you are ready to use it.  You don’t need find a cover or another container, simply pop on the lid and turn it to close the pouring spout to keep out odors.  When it comes time to use the mixture, turn the lid around until the opening in the lid allows you to pour it out.

There are graduations marked on the side of the jug.

Braun Tassimo TA1400 Hot Beverage SystemCoffee makers are becoming more and more revolutionary every day and the Braun Tassimo is no exception. This is one easy machine to use. With just the touch of a button you can have steaming hot coffee in around a minute. And not only that, this appliance also makes tea, espresso, hot chocolate, capuccinos and lattes.

The Braun Tassimo works with the use of T-Discs. Each T-Disc containes pre-measured ingredients so all you have to really do is pop it into the machine. On each T-Disc is a barcode. The machine reads the barcode and knows exactly how to brew your beverage so you get the perfect cup everytime. It determines how much water is required, what temperature is needed and how long the brewing time should be.

You also have the option of customizing your favorite cup to suit your own settings.

It makes an 11oz cup each time and you can fill it to about 68oz. This means you don’t have to refill each time you want a cup of coffee.

It has an adjustable cup stand to suit most sizes and a removable water tank to make it easy to fill.

This machine does only make one cup at a time but at only a minute or so for each cup, it’s not a long wait between brews.
