cuisinart-white-pro-custom-11-cup-food-processorAfter reviewing the Cuisinart Power Prep Plus Food Processor we had to turn our attention to one of their cheaper food processors to see whether the price really made a difference.

The Cuisinart 11-Cup Pro Custom 11 Food Processors is one of the classic food processors in the range.

This processor has only one speed but this is all that is really needed in a food processor as the consistency of the food is controlled by how long you process it for and not the speed. This is also where the pulse control comes into play.

The work bowl is an 11 cup capacity so should be large enough to handle most tasks. If anything it is probably too large for some of the smaller jobs. For instance, you may be better off cutting a small amount of parsley by hand rather than use the processor as the effort of trying to scrape the contents from the side of the bowl and having to clean it up after, may not be worth all the effort. This is probably suitable for a family but may not be worth the effort for one person or even a couple. A smaller cup processor may be a better option.

The dough blade is made from hard plastic but is in contrast to the Cusinart Power Prep model which has a stainless steel dough blade. If you are purchasing this more for the dough kneading option than anything else then you are probably better off with the Power Prep. The stainless steel dough blade is supposed to be a better option as it is  provides a smoother knead of the dough.

One important factor to remember about food processors is that they are not blenders. We often see complaints about liquid seeping out of their food processor and we’re not just talking about this particular model – it seems to be a common complaint for a number of different food processors. This is because food processors don’t work in the same way as a blender and they just don’t handle liquids well. If you want to process a lot of liquids then buy a blender. For anything else, buy a food processor.

What’s Included

  • 11 cup work bowl
  • One standard steel blade
  • Dough blade
  • Two slicing discs
  • One shredding disc
  • Instructional video/DVD – you may get one or the other
  • Large and small feed tubes
  • Recipe Booklet
  • Spatula
  • 5 year warranty on the motor
  • 3 year limited warranty on the entire unit

What We Like

  • The machine can knead up to 3lb of bread dough.
  • It has a large feeding tube which means you can put in whole fruits and vegetables. This saves you the time of cutting the food into smaller portions first just to feed into the feeder.
  • The work bowl is shatter proof, heat and cold resistant.
  • The parts are dishwasher safe.

Overall this is quite a good food processor although it has received mixed reviews on the internet for it. If you have some extra dollars to spend then we would recommend the Cuisinart Power Prep Food Processor which has received outstanding reviews.
