If you’ve never owned a bread maker then you are in for a treat. These amazing appliances make cooking bread an absolute breeze. Just add the ingredients, press a few buttons and the machine does the rest. It can also mix and knead dough if you would rather bake your breads in an oven or if you want to make bread rolls, pizzas or other fancy breads which can’t actually be cooked in a bread maker.

The Panasonic SD-YD250 Automatic Bread Maker has been rated extremely well by consumers and for good reason. It has all the basic functions of a bread maker – it mixes, kneads, rises and bakes the bread; but it also has quite a few neat little functions.

The one I like the most is the 13 hour delay timer which means that you can have bread baked hot and ready for you in the morning or ready for you when you get home from work.

I also like the fact that it has multiple functions for different types of breads so for instance, it knows that your sandwich bread requires a softer crust.

The raisin option is neat. This alerts you when it is ready for you to add any dried fruits or nuts to the mix. If you were to add them at the start of the mix then they could go soggy and it just wouldn’t help with the overall outcome of the dough if added too early.

What’s Included:

  • Bread machine
  • Recipe booklet
  • Measuring spoon
  • Measuring cup

What We Like

  • This bread maker bakes loaves in three different sizes – medium, large and extra large
  • It includes a recipe booklet with up to 40 different types of breads and doughs.
  • It has a 13 hour delay timer.
  • It has settings for different types of breads including white, sandwich bread, whole wheat, multi-grain, pizza, French bread and even cakes.
  • It has a crust control option which allows you to select a light, medium or dark crust, depending on the bread setting you have chosen.
  • If you have a power failure the machine continues to operate for up to 10 minutes.,
  • It has a rapid bake option.
  • The yeast dispenser means that yeast is added at just the right moment and is especially useful if you use the delay timer as you don’t want the yeast sitting with the ingredients for a lengthy period.
  • This is a relatively quiet machine as bread makers go but don’t expect this to be super silent.

Some other things to consider:

  • This is a hefty machine at 14in high by 13.5in width so will take up a bit of room on your counter.
  • This machine doesn’t have a window at the top so you can’t see the progress of the dough at any point without lifting the lid.
