One of the best features of this machine is the ability to take both ground coffee and pod coffee. For convenience sake, the pods are a quick and easy way to make coffee but the beauty of this machine is that you can also use your own ground coffee. You have the choice of convenience or complete control.
The second really cool feature of this espresso machine is that it has a dual-function filter holder. So not only does it filter but it also mixes air into the brew. So what’s so good about that you’re probably asking? Well the air is what creates the smooth frothy topping, or crema as it is called, on the top of your espresso.
What We Like
- It has a removable water tank which makes it easy to fill.
- It has a removable drip tray which makes clean up a lot easier.
- The self priming operation means that you don’t have the problem of start up preparation.
- You can use both ground coffee or ESE (Easy Serve Espresso certified) pods in this coffee maker.
- It comes with a swivel jet frother for making cappuccinos and lattes.
- The nice compact design means it won’t take up too much space on your counter.
What We Don’t Like
- The frothing wand is quite low so will require a frothing cup to fit.

I just got my DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker today! I was so excited that I opened it right away and made my first latte tonight! I thoroughly read the instructions and washed and prepped everything the way it said to. The design of the machine looks nice and is a good size. The frothing wand is a little oddly shaped and positioned, but I was aware of that going into it because of the other reviews on here. I was still able to make a good foam and steamed milk for my very first latte ever! I hopefully will get better at the latte making process, but overall the espresso was great and did not take long at all! I am very satisfied and I agree with all of the other good reviews on this product. This is a good quality machine that is easy enough to use for a novice first time espresso maker like me.
