Komachi Fish Knife ReviewI’ve never called a knife ‘cute’ before but there is a first time for everything. The Pure Komachi by Kai 4 1/2 Inch Stainless-Steel Fish Knife is a bit of fun with its pale fluorescent color and fun fish cut-out handle.  But its not all fun and games with this knife. This is a serious knife with one sharp blade that will have you cutting through fish with ease.

The colors may be cute but they actually provide a service. They are color coded so you know exactly which knife you are working with and ensure they you don’t accidentally cause cross contamination when working with different foods. As well as this, the handles on the Komachi knives have an image of whatever the knife is used for – in this case an image of a fish.

The knife is manufactured from high carbon stainless steel and has a full tang. For those Komachi Fish Knife Reviewthat don’t know, the tang is the part of the steel that extends into the handle. A full tang is generally the sign of a good quality knife.

The blade itself is coated in a fluorinated resin coating that keeps foods from sticking to the blade and helps to resist bacteria.

The top of the knife has a row of grooves which is what you can use to scale your fish.

The knife is dish washer safe but to keep it in tip-top shape you would be better off washing this one by hand.
