REVIEW: Kasumi Utility Boner Knife – 4-¾ inch

Kasumi Utility/Boner KnifeIf you are looking for an all-purpose cutting tool in the kitchen, you don’t need to look any farther. The Kasumi Utility/Boner Knife will be the one item you want. This knife has a 4-¾ inch blade. Think of it as a paring knife that was bigger than his brothers or sisters.

This knife was created to be a jack-of-all-trades. From the shape of the blade to the feel of the handle, it is easy to hold and can be put to work on a number of tasks.

The blade is simple enough, pointed in case you need to pry, poke or stab something with a sharp instrument. The top of the blade is smoothed to make sure you don’t cut your hand if you happen to push on this area. The bottom side, on the other hand, has a graduated blade area that can be used for anything from chopping to slicing or just general-purpose cutting.

For those who like the old fashioned style of cutting and peeling with their thumb on the back of the blade, this has a nice surface to exert the extra pressure to get just the right cut.

Wrap all of this up in an attractive blade package (the laminated wood handles) and it’s a great addition to the kitchen.

  • This knife  may be a bit pricey if you are not a professional chef with a major budget for kitchen tools.
