Dr Who Dalek Cookie JarIf you are a fan of Dr Who then you will love this Dalek Cookie Jar. I actually can’t quite believe that anyone would think of making a cookie jar in the shape of a dalek but I guess you can get just about anything these days.

Dr Who is the longest running sci-fi series in the world. I know I have been watching it since I was a kid and I just love the new and updated Dr Who series with the current doctor David Tennant and also the doctor before him Christopher Eccleston.

The daleks were always my favorite villainous race. If only the doctor knew back then that he simply had to run up a set of stairs to get away from one. These days the daleks are a little more sophisticated and have the ability to get up a set of stairs and even fly around the room…but I digress.

The dalek is in the traditional silver color with black and blue highlights and stands approximately 13 inch.

To get to the cookies you simply remove the head of the dalek.

This is a limited edition of 1000 so you won’t want to wait too long decided on whether to purchase this little beauty.

This would make a great gift for any Doctor Who fan or anyone who collects Doctor Who memorabilia. It comes gift boxed.

This is an electric fondue maker so you don’t have to worry about lighting flames and ensuring that they stay lit. Just plug this one in and away you go.

This is a good sized fondue maker at 3 quarts and it looks good too with its brushed stainless steel exterior. The bowl’s interior is nonstick so clean up becomes an easy chore.

The temperature control is removable and you can place the unit (without the cord and temperature probe) in the dishwasher. How good is that?!

One problem is that the cord is short. This is one failing of this fondue maker but I assume the cord is short for safety reasons. An extension cord will quickly solve this problem.

REVIEW: Rachael Ray Round 5.5qt Covered Casserole Everything Pan

Rachael Ray Covered Casserole Everything PanI love Rachael Ray cookware and so it seems does a good proportion of the population. It would have to be one of the most popular brands on our site. This is why whenever a new piece of cookware in the Rachael Ray line becomes available it always generates a lot of attention and I can see that this one will do the same.

I’m not sure why, but this pan is called an ‘Everything Pan’ on Cooking.com but on Amazon it’s called a Covered Round Casserole,.

I much prefer the ‘Everything Pan’ title because this handy pan is very versatile and you will find yourself using it for more than just casseroles.

This is a nice sized pan at 5.5qt. It comes with a sizable cooking surface to allow you enough room to sear meat with the high sides giving you the opportunity to easily add plenty of ingredients without any problem.

The pan is made from a hard anodized construction. What this means is that you have a strong durable pot that distributes heat evenly. This means no hot spots when you cook so foods cook nice and evenly.

The surface is non-stick so foods release easily and clean up is quick and easy. This will be important as you can’t put this one in the dishwasher.

The handles of this pan are covered with a grippy silicone coating so they stay cool on the stove top and you can maintain a good grip on the pot when lifting from the stove.

What I love about this pan is that you can transfer it from stove top to the oven as it is oven safe to 400F….nice! This saves you having to transfer the contents of the pot to another oven-safe pan. It’s nice not having to wash up more pots and pans than you need to.

The pan comes with a glass lid so you can monitor foods without having to constantly remove the lid. This ensures that moisture is retained and you don’t have to worry about scalding yourself with escaping steam when the lid is removed.

It’s also good to see that Rachael Ray has enough faith in her products to back it this one up with a lifetime warranty.

It’s currently only available in orange but as with most of the Rachael Ray cookware line it is most likely that other colors will become available in the near future.
