Silpat 11-5/8-by-16-1/2-Inch Nonstick Silicone Baking MatHave you given up on baking because of all the clean up work? If you are like most people you have had more than your fair share of instances where you put all the work in to create great cookies or candy, but then ruined their look when you were trying to get them off of the baking surface as they stuck and you were forced to scrape with a spatula to set them free.

For many people, that’s enough to make them want to stop baking altogether. But now there is another option. Instead of getting frustrated with your edible creations, you can use a Silpat Nonstick Silicone Baking Mat to prepare the dough, cook your items, and get them to slide them right off, ready to be served.

Made of flexible silicone, this mat can be placed right in your cookie sheet after you prep the dough, then be cooked until done and the completed baked goods can be popped right off onto a plate. It can also be used to put things in the refrigerator, freezer or microwave.

Clean up is easy enough, requiring nothing more than hot water and a little dish soap. Dry it off, roll it up and it’s ready for the next time you need it.

What We Like:

  • You can use this to roll out and prepare dough as well as cook on it.
  • It makes cookie sheet clean up easy as the mat is on top of the sheet.
  • It saves money on parchment paper as it can replace this. That also cuts down on waste from your kitchen.
  • It rolls up for easy storage once you are done using it.

What We Didn’t Like:

  • It can start to smoke with a chemical smell if you cook it at over 350.
  • The non-stick surface is not always as good as we would like it to be.
