Just as you would expect, this book has a series of 30-minute meals that will make people think you spent a lot more time in the kitchen cooking just for them.
Additionally, this book gets high marks for variety in the meal options. While many books focus on meals that are for a family of four or more, Rachael Ray’s Big Orange Book also has menus just for one so you can eat like a king, even if it is just you.
She also has sections of meals for vegetarians, those who are on a Kosher diet, and some special meals that will help you use some of your free time in the kitchen to make your next party look like it has been catered.
This book is quite a deal when you consider that it’s packed with 336 pages of recipes and photos so you can see what you are cooking, in many cases, before you even buy the ingredients.
What we like:
- Pictures – There are a lot of pictures in this book. If you are a visual person, you will be pleased with how many of the dishes you can see before you ever make them.
- Simple Instructions – Even if you are new to the world of cooking you won’t have a problem keeping up with the recipes in this book.
- Fast Meals – No one has a lot of time to cook dinner at the end of the day, but with these recipes you can still have a hot, fresh, sit-down meal only 30 minutes after you get home.
Something to Consider:
- Limited Specialty Recipes – We would have loved to see a few more of the vegetarian and Kosher recipes.
