Burr Grinders have advantages over the cheaper blade grinders as they grind the beans more evenly are less noisy and they don’t burn the ground coffee which often happens with the cheaper blade grinders.

What We Like

  • The Kitchenaid Pro Line Burr Grinder actually flakes the coffee beans rather than crushing them. This ensures that the precious oils and flavors are not lost.
  • This grinder has an amazing 15 ground settings from espresso fine right through to French press coarse.
  • This is a solid piece of machinery with a glass coffee bin which eliminates that static cling you get with plastic bins.
  • This grinder is very quiet.
  • Uniform grind consistency.

What We Don’t Like

  • This is not a cheap grinder but this should be the only grinder you will ever buy.

Kitchenaid have developed a superb hand mixer that is a perfect accessory for any home kitchen. The Kitchenaid 9 Speed Hand Mixer is just one of those must haves for anyone serious about their cooking.

This hand mixer won’t get through heavy bread dough but you will be able to mix just about anything else in this powerful model.

What We Like

  • It has an amazing 9 speed settings and there is a smooth transitioning between speeds.
  • The slow start option means that you won’t get food splattering around your kitchen when you first start up the mixer.
  • Also includes a whisk attachment for beating delicate items like cream and eggs.
  • Very easy to clean. Kitchenaid have designed this well by providing smooth surfaces and no areas where food can get clogged.
  • It’s solid but also light weight so you won’t tire easily.
  • It’s also relatively quiet.

What We Didn’t Like

  • The price may be just out of reach for some but this is a quality mixer that will see a lot of use.

We are going to take a look at both to see which one makes the grade.

2 Slots/4 Slices – Kitchenaid 4 Slice Toaster KTT570

This toaster is around $20 cheaper than the 4 slot version which you can read about below. So what makes it cheaper? Basically, it comes down to features.

Apart from the features and options, the main difference between this toaster and the 4 slot/4 slice is that the two slots means that you can put in any length of toast or bagel.

What We Like

  • This Kitchenaid toaster is cool to the touch. This is important especially when there are kids around who just want to touch everything.
  • The slots are wide enough to fit bagels.
  • There are an amazing 9 heat settings including one specifically for bagels and also one for frozen breads.
  • It comes with a removable crumb tray which makes it easy to clean.
  • You can store the cord under the base.
  • It also has a reheat button which I love.
  • It comes in three different colors – white, empire red and onyx black

What We Don’t Like

  • There wasn’t much that we could find wrong with this toaster in terms of features and options however we found that a number of reviews on the net mentioned that this toaster really didn’t cook toast evenly.

We found the prices to be fairly static across the net so we can’t really give a best price. Our preference is Cooking.com as they are known for their good service AND they also provide FREE SHIPPING for this item.

4 slots/4 slices – Kitchenaid 4 Slot/4 Slice Metal Classic Toaster

KitchenAid 4-slice Metal Classic Toaster, RedI really like the look of this toaster. To me it looks like something that would be used in a commercial setting so it just speaks of quality and durability.

The features and options on this toaster just set it apart from the rest and the dual controls are a brilliant addition to this already great toaster.

What We Like

  • This toaster has specific settings for toasting bagels which means it toasts the cut side more than the uncut side.
  • This toaster has dual settings so you can set the controls independently. For instance. you can toast two bagels on one side with specific settings just for those bagels and on the other two pieces of toast with totally different settings…and you can do it all at the same time.
  • The exterior of the toaster is kept cool to the touch which is great if you have kiddies around.
  • The extra wide slots allow for toasting of bagels.
  • It has a warming function which warms the toast rather than toasting it even further.

What We Don’t Like

  • Nothing really. This is one quality toaster that does the job exceptionally well. The bells and whistles are what really sets this apart. We were hard pressed to find a negative review for this one on the net.

Our Recommendation

Well it’s obvious that we prefer the 4 slots/4 slices toaster and for the extra $20 we would have to go with this one.
