The Sanyo ECJ-S35K Rice Cooker is a multi-purpose, very versatile piece of machinery. With the ability to make rice, soup, stews and even bread you will love have this piece of equipment in your kitchen.

This fuzzy logic rice cooker has a 3.5 cup capacity. This means 3.5 cups of uncooked rice which will make about 7 cups of cooked rice so it’s a decent sized rice cooker.

So what is fuzzy logic?

In relation to rice cookers, fuzzy logic means that the rice cooker cooks your rice exactly how it should be cooked. It adjusts the temperature and the amount of time as required and recognizes the type of rice you use and adjusts its cooking style to suit the rice.

I really like the look of this kettle. It is stylish and comes in a range of colors to suit any kitchen. It also has a unique pouring spout that opens automatically when you tip the kettle to pour.

This Oxo tea kettle is made of stainless steel and is a nice size at 1.8qt. However, apart from that there is not much more we can positively say about this product.

Unfortunately some minor design flaws have resulted in a product that has caused a few problems for quite a few purchasers. The main issue appears to be around the pouring spout cover melting. Some reviewers experienced this problem from day one while others had the kettle for a few months before it melted.

Others also complained about the handle being hot to touch despite the fact that it is heat resistant.

It looks as though Oxo is working on the problems and it is most likely that they will be sorted eventually but in the meantime it is not a product that we can recommend.

You gotta love this - a garlic press that doesn’t require you to peel the cloves AND you can put up to 3 cloves in at a time.

The Zyliss Jumbo Aluminum Garlic Press has been recommended by some notable names in the business including Cooks Illustrated, Sam the Cooking Guy and America’s Test Kitchen.

Reviews on the internet have been excellent with mostly five star ratings although I have noticed a few people complain about the non-stick coating coming off. These seem to be in contrast to the rest of the reviewers so I wonder whether they have received defective products to begin with.

There have also been a couple of complaints about the difficulty in squeezing the garlic press but on the other hand a good majority of reviewers were pleased at how little effort is required to squeeze the press.

The more cloves you have in this press then the more effort will be required. It will also work better when the garlic is fresh and juicy than when it is getting a bit old and dry.

What We Like

• The garlic press comes with a cleaner which helps to get the garlic out of the holes.
• The cleaner stores neatly into the press so you won’t lose it.
• This is dishwasher safe.
• It’s covered by a 5 year warranty.
• It presses up to 3 regular sized garlic cloves and they don’t need to be peeled.

If you’ve ever had trouble flipping a crepe then this is for you. The Villaware crepe maker does the job of making crepes a breeze.

Crepes are light, delicate and can be filled with whatever you like for a tasty meal or dessert. I personally love them with strawberries and cream or just lemon and sugar…but now I’m getting sidetracked.

Basically to use one of these you just need to make your crepe mix and then grab your crepe maker and dip it into the mix so it coats the surface. Included is a plastic dipping plate for this. Then you flip the crepe maker over to allow the crepe to cook. After about 30 seconds or so you just peel the crepe off the surface and there you have it. It couldn’t be simpler.

What We Like

• This crepe maker lets you know when it is at the right temperature to start cooking.
• The handle on this stays cool.
• You don’t have to use butter or oil although you might need to test this to see if it works a little better with some sort of grease.
• The crepes come out a lot thinner than cooking in a regular pan.
• Good value for money.

• The cord can twist and get in the way.

The Perfex Pepper mill is made from nickel plated aluminum and has been manufactured for just over 50 years. This says something about this product. Why would you bother to continue to manufacture a product that is of poor quality and design. Quality products sell and continue to sell year after year.
