FXcuisine – Blog of the Week

FXcuisine

This weeks Blog of the Week is

‘FXcuisine’

I found this site through ‘Stumbleupon” and I am so glad I did.

Now here is a cooking blog with a difference. Firstly it is put together by François-Xavier (FX) who is a French-speaking Swiss man living on the shores of Lake Geneva, an hour from both France and Italy. Already I am totally jealous and intrigued. And secondly the recipes and articles are accompanied by great photos with full descriptions on how to achieve the desired result.

I was captivated immediately by the intriguing banner and then my eye travelled down the page to all the interesting recipes and articles.

There are so many interesting recipes such as the Daube de beu saintongeaise or Beef with carrots or the Pumpkin Gnocchis, a recipe I must try as I have never been able to perfect this dish. For a refreshing yogurt salad try the Indian Raita

One article that I found to be very interesting, having lived on a farm where we killed our own meat was  about the killing of the pigs. This article may be disturbing to some and you are warned before reading it that there are graphic pictures of a pig being slaughtered in the Moldavian manner.

FXcuisine is a veritable feast for the senses.

What’s For Lunch Honey – Blog of The Week

Whats For Lunch HoneyOur pick for this weeks Blog of the Week is
 ‘What’s For Lunch Honey’.

Meeta’s blog is a gorgeous array of recipes including ‘Bollywood’ recipes for those who like Indian food and her Pumpkin Polenta Gratin is not only very tasty but the photo is eyecatching.

In fact all her photos are a splendid splash of color that excites the senses and makes you want to dive right in and cook.

Another brilliant recipe is the Banana Brioche Pudding with Baileys Caramel Cream.

You should also take a look at the beautiful centrepiece she has constructed using a pumpkin as the base.

So if you are looking for a cooking blog that provides great recipes, beautiful photographs and lots of information then check out What’s For Lunch Honey.

A Girl Who Likes To Cook – Blog of the Week

girl-who-loves-to-cook.JPGThis weeks blog, Cooking is my Passion is by Su-Yin a Malaysian student who loves to cook.

She creates some pretty cute looking cakes for her friends and her story about the face cupcakes is amusing.

For those who like crab, Su-Yin has a very nice sweet and sour chilli sauce recipe that includes crab meat.

There are plenty of great recipes to try so why not take a look at her journal for some inspiration.

Cooking Bytes

One of the tasks I do whilst working on this website is to scour the net looking for blogs to add to our Blog of the Week section.

Now I shouldn’t really call this a task as I really enjoy it. The number of cooking and food related blogs on the net is amazing and the quality of some of them is outstanding. In other words, there are just too many to choose from so I am going to add some of the more interesting ones that I have saved in my Favorites folder in the past couple of weeks:

  1. Herbal Farmstead – As the name suggests, this blog focuses on herbs. I particularly liked her post on Herbal Housekeeping which provided recipes for making your own natural home made cleaners.
  2. The Candy Addict – If you love candy (and who doesn’t) then this is the site for you. Everything you have ever wanted to know about candy is here. Take a look at the Top 10 Grossest Candies and the M&M’s Wedding Cake.
  3. Kalyns Kitchen – This is a really nice, visually appealing blog and the recipes look fantastic. I am going to be trying the Sweet Potato Fries.
