The Rachael Ray 6qt Porcelain Enamel Saute Pan is a real beauty. It’s a big pan at 6 quarts so really suited to a family. It’s probably just a bit too big for for two people.
The pan is made from heavy gauge aluminum and clad in a beautiful green porcelain enamel. It does also come in the more traditional Rachael Ray orange color or if you prefer a blue. I must admit I really do like the green though.
The heavy gauge aluminum means that foods cook evenly and without hot spots. When buying cookware always ensure that it has a layer of aluminum or copper as this will ensure that you will have better cooking results.
The handles are stainless steel but come with the classic silicone grips that we see in the Rachael Ray range of cookware. This keeps the handles cool to touch and also provides a more solid grip.
The lid is made from tempered glass which makes it easy to see how your food is cooking without having to remove the lid. This helps to keep in essential juices and prevents foods from drying it.
The saute pan is oven proof up to 400F which is excellent as you can take the pan straight from your cook top to the oven without having to transfer the contents into another pot or pan.
The only major drawback to this Rachael Ray saute pan is that it isn’t dishwasher safe so you will have to hand wash this one. Still, it does have a nonstick coating so you will find clean up to be quick and easy.
This pan is also not suitable for glass or ceramic cook tops.
