This casserole is designed to be used on the stove top to braise and sear the meat and after you add the rest of the ingredients it can be used in the same manner as a Dutch Oven, simply put on the lid and pop the casserole in the oven to complete the cooking process.

The food cooks evenly because each piece of Calphalon’s Commercial hard-anodized cookware is made of heavy gauge aluminium so the heat is distributed evenly and there are no hot spots.

It is the hard anodizing that seals the cooking surface so that food doesn’t stick and it is non reactive with food.

The handles are designed to stay cool when the casserole is being used on the stovetop and because they are precision balanced, it is easy to manage and carry even full pans.

We really love the fact that you can cook a large quantity of food in the one pot from start to finish. It is ideal for the larger family or for entertaining, and also if you like to make large quantities of food for freezing.

This casserole is thinner than we generally expect from Calphalon, but this of course means the pan weighs less and is easy to manage even when full.

As with all Calphalon One Nonstick products this casserole dish is extremely easy to clean firstly as food does not seem to stick and even when it does a wipe with a soft cloth in warm soapy water easily does the trick.

This an elegantly designed piece of cookware and will transfer easily from oven to table.
